The redesign of Exhibition Road will involve a reallocation of parking provision in the area. We are carefully considering the implications of this and are investigating potential solutions to meet the needs of different road users.
We are committed to ensuring that there is no overall loss in residents’ parking either in Westminster or in Kensington as a result of the transformation of Exhibition Road.
Potential locations to replace the existing spaces that will be removed from Exhibition Road are currently being investigated. Details of the new parking arrangements are expected to be finalised by mid 2009 and will be communicated to residents at the earliest opportunity.
Disabled parking on Exhibition Road will be increased to ensure good access to the institutions. Exact locations are still being finalised.
Coaches will be permitted to pick up and drop off on Exhibition Road with a 15 minute maximum waiting time.
Existing coach drop off and pick up areas will be retained on Cromwell Road, outside of the V&A and the Natural History Museum.
