Notting Hill Carnival

Several of the Council's environmental services are involved in various aspects of Carnival to ensure it is a safe event.

Throughout the year, in preparation for the carnival, we liaise closely with the organisers and the external agencies involved in the operational planning of the event.

We provide a joint office with the Metropolitan Police Service which deals with the many carnival related enquiries.

We are responsible for monitoring:

food hygiene requirements for food sellers
health and safety conditions
noise levels from live stages, sound systems and mobile floats

We are also responsible for the provision of public toilets around the carnival area and the street cleansing operations during and after the event.
